Moving On (IMPORTANT- I hate to sound click-baity, but please read)

Image
Yes, the title is what it looks like. No, I am not leaving the blogging world, merely moving. *points again to title* See, it doesn't say "Leaving Forever, I Hope I'm Missed." But why the sudden change? I feel like this blog has run its course and done its purpose. It was a good stepping off point and learning opportunity, and now I feel like I'm ready to move. Looking back over everything I've written, I feel like I've settled and set the standard for what I want my blog to look like. I want to take everything I learned from Rustling Thoughts and start fresh again. But instead of completely overhauling this blog, I want to keep it and look back on it as it is without losing anything. It's been rolling around in the back of my mind for a few weeks now, and I've finally sat down and done it. I've made a lot of friends through Rustling Thoughts, even when it used to be The Shy Introvert. I improved my writing and proofreading ab...

Two years.

Image
I find it hard to believe I've stuck it out this long. Like, every time I try to start a chronicle of my life, it only lasts a few months, maybe a year. Yet here we are. Another year done. Wow, this is starting to sound sad. I'M NOT LEAVING OR ANYTHING.  THIS IS NOT A FUNERAL.  LIGHTEN UP FOR GOODNESS SAKE. *scratches head* How'm I supposed to celebrate this anyways? Confetti, I guess. And I suppose I could get Gandalf to blast off some fireworks. But seriously though! I'm so happy with the way this blog of mine is working out! I'm so incredibly grateful for the friends I've met and made through blogging (we will figure out a way to meet up, I promise!). You have made me step out and find my voice. You have encouraged me and put up with my cringey first attempts at blogging and writing. In general, I feel like I've stepped out of my comfort zone and become a more lively person because of blogging. ...

Because I like to group multiple tags into one post

Image
(Note: I find that many of my posts consist of tags, and though I don't dislike tags [they can be quite entertaining], I would like to cut down on them in the future as they are essentially filler posts. From now on, I'll be a bit more selective.) Thank you to all the lovely people who have tagged me over the past month! Liebster,  Laura Rules: 1. Answer the 11 questions given by the person who nominated you 2. Nominate other bloggers (up to 11) and give them 11 questions to answer. Questions: 1. Would you rather live forever, or die tomorrow? That's a tough one. If I live forever, I could share the gospel with so many people, but never get to go to Heaven unless I was killed (there's a morbid thought). If I die tomorrow, I would go to Heaven (there are no downsides). (there's another thing about me; I like to weigh the costs and benefits to practically everything) 2. Best compliment you've ever received?  Someone told me I was pretty. (Tha...

Too Bad 'Sweet' Isn't In Front of 17

Image
Happy birthday to me It's a party of three Everyone else is in Maui So now it's just us three Today I turn seventeen. That sentence has been staring me in the face for the past few weeks. I feel like a deer stuck in the middle of the road watching a semi barrel down the highway at full speed. "What on earth! I'm not old enough to be seventeen yet! I still like to color (stress reliever, ok?), play with my model horses, and pretend that mom is still taller than me."  It's been a great year though. Mom, the littles (Ava, Gabe, Mia), and Lydia are all in Maui. A little bird told me they'd celebrate on the beach for me. We (Dad, Christian, and I) will be meeting them in a few days. Oh wait, that's like, in four days...I gotta pack soon! One of the traditions we have for birthdays is, Mom and Dad will take the lucky person out for breakfast. Seeing as how Mom wouldn't be here, they came and asked me if I would rather have breakfa...

What To Do?

Image
Hey all! I feel like I haven't really been writing as much as I should, but I'm out of ideas for posts. Are there any questions you want me to answer? Anything you want to know? Any post ideas? Tell me your thoughts, I'd be ever so grateful! ~Chloe

In Which Chloe Gets Back On Top Of Things

Image
I promised weeks ago that I would do another "Movie Quotes" post. Unfortunately, life happened, therefore rendering me unable to do such a post until I remembered  until now. Without further ado, I guess I should go ahead and give the post to y'all before something terrible happens, like my pants catching fire because I waited too long . The rules are quite simple, really. All you have to do is, (1) Read each quote (2) Enlighten us as to which movie it came from* (3) Say who said it.* 1. “There is some good in this world, and it’s worth fighting for.” 2. "Masquerade, paper faces on parade. Masquerade, hide your face, and the world will never find you." 3. “Through a series of events, that had nothing to do with me….” 4. “It’s so fluffy I’m gonna die!” 5. “Tell me…. Tell me….. Tell me….. OK, DON”T TELL ME!” 6. “And Daddy, they took my boot!” 7. "Angel of music, you deceived me. I gave my life blindly." 8. "If more of us value...

Just A Rather Very Boring(?) Life Post

I sit down at the laptop, wanting to write, but the characters aren't ready to talk. I want  to write something, so I'll give y'all a peek at what's going on. Happy 4th of July! Currently cooking: Since mom bribed me with tea, I just made  big sticky mess, but you'll love them anyways  kefir biscuits. We'll have them with the strawberry jam she made earlier before some of us head off to church. For those of you who don't know what kefir is, it's sort-of like yogurt, except, if I remember correctly, yogurt is cooked and kefir is not. It's good for your gut. The biscuits are, like, the best ever. They taste particularly delicious with butter and lemon infused honey. Currently reading: I'm trying to hurry up and finish A passage to India , but it's just so slow, and long, and not exactly the type of book I would normally like to just pick up and read in an afternoon. I also recently found free copies of Les mis, The Last of The Mohican...

Questions and Answers

Image
To those of you who commented me questions in  THIS POST , I now have answers! Jubilee asked these: 1. Are you tall or short? I'm about average, I have a tall dad, and a regular mom. About 5' 6.5" ish. 2. Girly girl or tomboy? A mix of both, but I lean more towards tomboy. If given the choice of either go to prom, or go fishing, hand me a pole! But if given the choice to go to a sleepover or camping, I'd probably take the sleepover. 3. Do you play any sports? I used to play basketball, but I wasn't that great. Sometimes I hit a tennis ball back and forth with Lydia and Christian at the school tennis courts. 4. Who is your favorite superhero? I've not really ever watched superhero movies, so I don't exactly know. Yes, I need to work on that one, so don't freak out. 5. What is your go to hairstyle? A plain and simple braid. My hair has a mind of it's own, and I prefer not to anger it. 6. Do you like to draw or paint? I l...

Sisterhood Award

Image
Miss Sadie of  Buttermilk Sky  has nominated yours truly for the Sisterhood Award! Thanks a bunch! First off, it appears that there are some rules to follow, so I should probably put those in here: 1. Thank the blogger who nominated you, linking back to their site. (Check) 2. Put the Award logo on your blog. (In the process) 3. Answer the ten questions sent to you. (As soon as I find them) 4. Make up ten new questions for your nominees to answer. (Will do) 5. Nominate ten blogs (Ten? We'll see) So, it begins. Oh, look at that, I found the questions: #1 Do you like county fairs? I haven't really been to one, that I can remember. I think I would enjoy it though. #2 Were you ever in some sort of club as a kid? I was a part of Awana for a few years, but that's about it. #3 What's one of the first movies you remember seeing? Probably the old animated Cinderella, or Robin Hood, or The Jungle Book. #4 Which would you rather do: hop in yo...

Ask Away!

One of my followers, she shall remain un-named, has requested an "ask me anything" post. This is it! It you have any questions, please ask them, but do try to remember that I retain the right to discard questions if I feel they are too nosey. If I do not answer your questions, take heart dear friend! I may have several posts dedicated to answering the asked questions. I know I must sound terribly formal. It is because, for some very odd reason, I feel inclined to use such vocabulary. In all seriousness, I am trying not to laugh as I type these symbols into the cyber world. I shall limit the timespan of questioning to June 14. The most important thing to remember is this; have fun, and ask away! Without further ado, I leave you to your questioning. Cheerio! ~Chloe

Hi!

Image
Hi there! Welcome to my little blog. I'm Chloe, The Shy Introvert. I'm very new at this, so bear with me.  Here goes! First of all, and most importantly, I am a Christian. I am constantly reminded that I am not perfect, but I'm ok with that. I know that I am just the way God created me to be. I'm VERY shy. It's not even funny.  I'm 16 (I have absolutely no idea why they call it "sweet"). I'm home-schooled, and I love it! Seriously, why doesn't every one home-school? We're not crazy, I promise. Different, yes, but not crazy. I'm the second-born of six (yes, I said six) kids. I may pick on them from time to time, but if you tease, fight, or are mean to any one of them... You get the idea, right? I love them all very much. As a family, we all love going to the beach. I won't say where though, because of reasons. Sorry about that. I like photography. I'm not very good ye...
