Beautiful Books: November

Image
Yes. This is a procrastination post. Yes. I should be writing. No. You can't stop me. Excerpt from Cait's Post : Just like every year, we’re giving our monthly link up “ Beautiful People ” a small rest so we can focus on “Beautiful Books”.  (You can see last year’s  Stage 1 ,  Stage 2 , and  Stage 3   linkups.)  Sky  and I host Beautiful Books so we can focus on  our NaNoWriMo projects. The format is the same as Beautiful People. We’ll post 10 questions to answer about your WiP — aka your  beautiful book .  Answer the questions in a blog post of your own and then come back here to link up! Ze Questions: 1. Overall, how is your mental state, and how is your novel going? *covers ears* LALALALALALALA I'm behind actually. I don't feel like it's coming very fast. And I feel like it's taking me way too long to get to the parts I want to actually write. The climax is so far away. *minor freakoutation* (p...

NaNo starts tomorrow! *panics* *deep breaths* So to distract myself, I'll talk about my project. *sarcasm* Thank goodness I don't have to come up with questions to answer,  Cait  has already done that for me. Beautiful People: Millicent (dun dun DUN)

Image
Find July's post  here . If you have any questions, go  here . You can join any time, and it's super fun too! I'm going to do mine on Millicent, who is a very, I repeat, VERY big character in at least two (most likely more) of my stories. She's the villain in one, and I can't tell you very much about her in the other one right now, because huge spoilers.  Onwards! Do they want to get married and/or have children? Why or why not? Actually, she did get married, but I can't tell you who she married, because that would completely give away The Huge Spoiler. She did have a daughter though. (hold on a sec, I gave you a sizeable hint a post or two ago here )  What is their weapon of choice? (It doesn’t necessarily have to be a physical weapon.) Her wit. What’s the nicest thing they’ve done for someone else, and why did they do it? She would say that the nicest thing she's done thus far is leaving. Her daughter would say otherwise. H...

Beautiful People: May

Image
I've seen several of these, and thought, "hey, why not?" (actually, that's how a lot of my posts are materializing right now. Funny, that.) Beautiful people is a tool for writers to essentially get to know their characters better. Each month ten new questions are posted at the links provided in the above picture.  Anyone can join at any time, and you needn't feel obligated to do it every month. I'm going to do Reiyna, a character from my camp NaNo project, "The Inventor's Daughter," a Beauty and the Beast  retelling. ( Pinterest board ) And, because I feel like it, I'll let her answer the questions herself. 1. How often do they smile? Would they smile at a stranger? Well, since I run a coffee shop, I have to smile at my customers. It's an unwritten law of good service.  Given the corrupt society of Jukuvar, it isn't safe to just smile at a stranger while on the street. In fact, it can be qu...
