Rustling Thoughts

Ok, so a while ago  Mironiel Blokzyl  made a bookshelf tag, and tagged anyone who wanted to do it, so, naturally, I stole it  decided to do it. :) But, seeing as how I was on vacation when she posted it, and away from most of my precious books, I had to wait until I returned. Anyways, I'm positive the only rules are to answer the questions, and tag people. Let the tag commence! 1) How do you rearrange your bookshelf? There was a time when I didn't even have my own shelf, I shared with Lydia, so she did the organizing. Then, I got a huge tall bookshelf, that was rather wobbly. I thing I filled about half of it, and used the other half for desk storage, since I didn't (and still don't) have a desk. I moved rooms a couple of times, and now I have a different bookshelf (that is still huge). I had a faze where I wanted everything by series and height. Now it's just what looks nice and interesting. When I get more books, I may try to organize by color. 2) ...

If any of y'all follow me on  Goodreads , then you'll have noticed that I've been reading a particular series by Liz Curtis Higgs. The first three books, Thorn in my heart, Fair is the rose, and  Whence came a prince , are a retelling of "Jacob and Esau" and "Leah and Rachel". I am positive that a certain character, who shall remain unnamed due to spoilers or the fact that I'll not have his name sullying my blog,  has no heart, whatsoever. *angry yells* The feelings I felt reading those three books are as follows: Aww, poor big brother! *narrows eyes at little brother* You had no right... Ack! I didn't mean for you to threaten to kill him! *reproofs big brother* Run little brother! Oh come on! Give a guy a break already. Finally, he's at his destination! Something's not right about you...*squints at unnamed character* I don't like the way you think. Oh good! A wedding! I love weddings, drinks all 'round! What!?...

Sorry, no pictures this time (just a few gifs to emphasize my points). A Wrinkle in Time , by Madeleine L’Engle (her name sounds really cool), follows the daring adventures of Meg, her little brother; Charles Wallace, and their friend; Calvin. Now, Charles Wallace is a very special little boy, he does not talk as much as boys his age usually do, yet he has made friends with three very old, very strange ladies, Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who, and Mrs. Which, respectively. He knows exactly when Meg is feeling out of sorts, and knows just how to make her feel better. He is a great comfort to their mother. Unfortunately, their father has been missing for quite some time. Together, with the Mrs. etc and Calvin, they travel by tesseract to different planets in search of him. Upon their arrival to a planet I've forgotten the name of, they discover that everyone does everything at exactly the same time. This, of course, is the planet in which their father is being held hostage for not foll...

It was cute. I'll start with that. A little bit scatter-brained, maybe, but cute in it's own classic way. Alice in Wonderland , by Lewis Carroll, follows the dream of little Alice. Wherein, she chases a mysterious white rabbit down its hole, has tea with a mad hatter and a March hare, learns bits of wisdom from the Cheshire Cat, hears the sad tale of the mock-turtle, and meets the queen of hearts. It was a very quick read, it only took me a bit over an hour. Although definitely geared towards younger children, it was assigned to me to read it for school, so what can I say? It was enjoyable, the fact that it was short greatly pleased me, as I had been reading some rather heavy books. The lighting was perfect for pictures when I finished it. ~Chloe
